✨ We had a Spotlight Interview with Myrrie Hayes—have a read and be empowered.

Q: Who or what inspired you to start your business?
A: My oldest sister suffered from mental illness. Watching her struggle through a broken system inspired me to do something about it. I saw the gap in quality care, especially for the severely mentally ill (SMI) population. That’s what motivated me to start my first group home—not just to offer better care, but to empower others to do the same and make a real difference.

Q: What do you attribute to your success?
A: Faith, perseverance, and staying committed to my vision. I’ve always believed in creating opportunities—not just for myself, but for others too. Surrounding myself with supportive people and staying willing to take risks has been key. I truly believe when you help others rise, success follows.

Q: What would you like to share with anyone who is thinking about going into this field?
A: This field requires a heart for service. It’s not just about starting a business—it’s about changing lives. You’ll face challenges, but the reward is worth it. With the right guidance and determination, you can build something powerful and meaningful.

Q: What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
A: Resilience. Life doesn’t wait for you to be ready. You have to keep moving forward, even in the tough times. Setbacks are part of the journey—but how you respond to them is what defines you.

Q: What advice do you have for women going through challenges?
A: Challenges are temporary, but your strength is lasting. Don’t doubt your worth. Build a circle of people who believe in you. Seek help when needed. And remember—every obstacle is preparing you for something greater. As I always say, “Be a blessing to someone else.”

Q: What is your take on woman-to-woman inspiration?
A: It’s one of the most powerful forms of empowerment. When women share their stories, we create a ripple effect of hope and strength. I’ve been mentored and have mentored others, and I’ve seen firsthand how one woman’s success can ignite another’s. Especially in the group home field, our compassion and leadership are deeply needed—and best shared.
