What do you do or what does your business do?

I am the Founder of KVM Global Ministries and A Woman Who Knows Her Worth. I lead an Empowerment of almost 3500 women from around the globe. We have a representation of 10+ countries. It is set to empower and inspire women from every walk of life. It is a joy to spend time pouring into women and, to bring them out of low places, back into the joy’s that life has to bring. I am also the CEO of Such A Lady Designs LLC. The extraordinary fashions for today’s extraordinary woman. It is set to adorn plus-size women, with a touch of love for our smaller ladies as well.

It is a joy to spend time pouring into women and, to bring them out of low places, back into the joy’s that life has to bring.

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

The most important lesson I have learned in life is to never give up on yourself. I gave up on myself so many times and, unfortunately, it left me in some very hard places every time. Giving up on me even brought me to a place of incarceration. So, I already lived a life locked up mentally and emotionally. Then I ended up being locked up physically. I had to say to myself, one day, is this who you really are? Is this the life that you really want to live? It was eye-opening time for me and the moment I realized I deserve better than this. That’s when things started to turn around. It made me not just better for me but also better for my children. They deserved a better me than what I was giving.

If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be?

If I was to change one thing about my life, I would say nothing. I briefly mentioned above about being incarcerated. I know many would expect me to say that to be the one thing to change but, truthfully, that end up being the best thing for my life. All of the up’s and down’s I have experienced made the product of who you see today. It has made for more power when I empower women. It makes for a great teaching ground when I’m trying to reach others and show them a better way of life. I wouldn’t be able to be the effective one I am striving to be if it wasn’t for the struggles I had to come through. Did it feel good? Absolutely not. Did it work for my good? Absolutely it did.

The part that you don’t hear so much, though, is the reward of knowing you are your child’s hero

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my children. Growing up I was so clear I don’t want to have any children. Give me some dogs and let me travel. When I got together with my ex-husband, it was then I decided to have a child because I thought that was the right thing to do as a wife. It wasn’t because I wanted to be a mother, but I wanted to do my best to be a good wife. The moment I held my first child in my arms my life literally changed. I stopped living for just me and I started living for her. Then, years later when I had my son, I fell in love all over again. Being a single parent is really hard. No, I’m not kidding. People say that and, trust me, they are spot on. The part that you don’t hear so much, though, is the reward of knowing you are your child’s hero. That makes it all worth it. I am my children’s superhero. I take nothing away from their fathers, but they weren’t there, I am. With that, my children will always know someone (me) is there for them always.

Never give up on yourself.

What do you hope to accomplish in the near future?

It is my hope to accomplish growing this network where we can be a great financial blessing to women’s lives when they need it. To continue to provide the mentorship, counseling, and network opportunities we present today and even greater. It’s my hope to be able to provide housing to those that are at risk and need assistance. It’s our hope to bless someone with a car debt-free. It’s our hope to continue to provide clothing to the Women’s Shelter that we have a relationship with, to assist them with getting back into a normal way of life. To enlarge our feeding program and to just overall make a difference in our individual neighborhoods and nations.

Why is women’s empowerment important to you?

Women’s Empowerment is important because it affords us a chance to right the wrong light shed on us. It is expected that women will tear each other down, instead of building each other up. We are said to gather for nothing more than gossip and bashing sessions. How wrong all of that truly is. There are women out there that aspire to be the light in another woman’s life. To give them the opportunity to excel in the places they never dreamed of. To open doors that others have slammed in their face. Women make up the majority of spaces and places we occupy. With such a large presence can you imagine the difference we can truly make in the entire world. There are women out there that need to know you make up a nation that is meant to make a difference. No matter your size, culture, or opportunities, you must know you were fashioned to bring forth change. Unfortunately, there are big girls and little girls that don’t know this and that’s why Empowerment is so important.
