Myrrie Hayes is the co-owner of a multimillion-dollar empire that started with a single rented group home. A serial entrepreneur, her journey from humble beginnings to multimillion-dollar growth includes coaching numerous clients and transforming lives, including her own family’s. Myrrie has expanded her business ventures across multiple industries, driven by her passion for empowering others. As a mother, grandmother, and advocate for special needs care, she is dedicated to helping others succeed in the group home industry while uplifting those around her and inspiring future entrepreneurs.

1.      Who or what inspired you to start your business?

My inspiration came from seeing the lack of quality care and support for individuals with special needs, particularly within the severely mentally ill (SMI) population. My oldest sister was mentally ill. Observing all her issues with healthcare and housing, it inspired me to do something about it. I recognized a significant gap in the system and felt a deep calling to make a difference. My passion for helping others, combined with my desire to provide meaningful change in people’s lives, drove me to start my first group home. The idea that I could create a business that not only offered exceptional care but also empowered others to build their own successful ventures has been my biggest motivation.

2.      What do you attribute to your success?

I attribute my success to a combination of faith, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to my vision. Surrounding myself with a supportive network and never being afraid to take risks has also been crucial. I've always believed in creating opportunities not just for myself but for others, and that mindset has allowed me to build lasting, meaningful success.

3.      What would you like to share with anyone who is thinking about going into this field?

The group home industry requires dedication and a heart for service. It's not just about running a business—it's about changing lives. If you’re passionate about helping others, be prepared for challenges but know that the rewards are far greater. With the right guidance and persistence, you can make a significant impact and create a thriving, successful business.

4.      What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

Life has taught me the power of resilience. No matter how difficult things get, you have to keep moving forward. Setbacks are part of the journey, but they don’t define you—how you respond does. Embrace the lessons, stay focused, and never give up on your dreams.

5.      What advice do you have for women going through challenges?

Challenges are temporary, but your strength and determination are limitless. Never let difficult times make you doubt your worth or your ability to overcome. Surround yourself with people who believe in you, and don't be afraid to seek help when you need it. Remember, every challenge is an opportunity for growth, and you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. Keep pushing forward and as I always say: Be a blessing to someone else.

6.    What is your take on woman-to-woman inspiration? Meaning women inspiring other women.

I believe women inspiring other women is one of the most powerful forms of empowerment. When we share our stories, we create a support system that lifts each other up. There’s something special about seeing another woman achieve her goals and knowing that if she can do it, so can you. I’ve been blessed to both receive and offer mentorship, and I’m passionate about helping women realize their full potential, especially in industries like group home care where our compassion and leadership are so needed.
