1. Write them down. This is a method of taking your goals from wishful thinking to reality and helps to crystallize your thinking. You’ll set goals with clear objectives and an understanding of the direction you must head in order to experience their realization.
2. Focus on actions instead of results. Why? Because you can control the actions you take on the path to your goals. Focus on your actions and the results will take care of themselves. Plus you’ll feel less pressure, since you’ll be focused on the thing you can control.
3. Be consistent. Consistently take action in the direction of your goals. Things won’t always go exactly as planned, but that’s okay. Adjust your plan as needed and continue to take action. If like many you don’t know all the steps to take, begin with the steps you know, while you work on finding out the rest.
4. Learn from your setbacks. There’s an old saying you may be familiar with. It says that nothing worth having comes easy. As you set out to accomplish your goals, you may realize how true this statement really is. You are sure to experience some setbacks. But it’s how you treat those setbacks that will determine whether you succeed or fail. Learn from them and move on.
5. Celebrate your success along the way. Everyday visualize what your success will feel like and celebrate your inevitable victory. Treat yourself to a reward when you make a small accomplishment or overcome a challenge. Remember this, success is a journey not a destination.
