What do you attribute to your success?
I attribute my relationship with God, a strong work ethic, a positive mindset, an awesome support system, and my commitment to my calling and purpose to my success. I love to motivate, inspire, and encourage others. It’s who I am. I could not do this without a great support system which includes my husband, mentor, children, family, and my Speak Life Team. They keep me grounded and I’m grateful for them. It’s such a blessing to be surrounded by people who not only believe in you but believe in your dreams. My purpose and calling are what I love to do. I Speak Life and I’m grateful for the grace and gifting to do it. I am humbled that God chose me to be a voice in the earth.

Who and What inspired you to start your business?
I served as a Social Worker for over 8 years. I have a passion for our youth and reconciliation and building of families however, I observed I was serving and advocating for a system which did not have the best interest of the children and families in mind. In my service, I found I was no longer fulfilled. I observed a system which focused on cleaning before catching. I believe we should be fishermen. Simply put, I believe we should focus on building people. You have to earn the right to speak into others’ lives. You can’t insult and inspire them at the same time. The system in my opinion was broken and was set up for families to fail. My eyes were open to see what children and families needed. What people needed. I also saw that their answers were hidden in their voices if only we would just listen and pay attention. They did not need dictatorship or to be forced to become someone they were never designed to be. They needed to be heard and when you listened you could hear their needs. When you hear their needs, you can offer them the good news and build them up. In September of 2018, I left my job to commit my life to serving and building others. I understand clearly today I was placed there for 8 years for a reason. My service there was not in vain. My service prepared me for my purpose and my calling.

How do you manage your work life balance?
A conscious and well-balanced life is necessary. In reflecting on my entrepreneur journey, I can say I have neglected some areas of my life in my quest to serve. Those areas suffered to some degree and I had to make some necessary adjustments. As an entrepreneur, you must have balance. I work by calendar and have developed a discipline to adhere to my calendar. My efforts are intentional. Everything I do is on purpose. I intentionally block out and schedule my spiritual time, family time, work time, and wellness/self-care time. Yes, I make sacrifices and there have been times I had to make the required sacrifices as well. In my experience as an entrepreneur, I discovered there’s a difference between sacrifice and neglect. I had to own up to what I sacrificed versus what I neglected including myself. I’ve found I must be healthy to serve others effectively.
What motivates you when you are filled with anxiety?
My purpose motivates me. When I’m faced with anxiety, I tap into my personal power and focus on what I have to do. I reframe my anxiety to fuel me to dig and push harder and deeper. I understand I am responsible for the call and purpose on my life and I can’t play with people’s lives. I also ensure I read and listen to personal development for at least 15 minutes or more daily. I also speak affirmations. In order to attract positivity, you must speak and act outwardly in a way that manifests your desired goals. I keep what I want to see in front of me. Whatever you hold in your mind on a consistent basis is exactly what you will experience in your life.

What do you hope to accomplish in the near future? I am believing my book SpeakLife: Own Your Process will be a New York Times Best Seller real soon. Yes, I’m speaking it, believing it, and doing the work to manifest it. I’m also working and believe Speak Life will be a conscious thought, practice, and discipline taught globally and internationally while transforming lives. I am also a singer, so I am seeking to integrate the musical side of me into my program. I want to spread life, transformation, and love through words and music. I am the voice that builds, and I’m determined to do it in whatever capacity God gives me the grace to do it in. I’ve found my one thing and I’ve dedicated my life to it. You possess the power to own your process, to own your life. I’m here to help you discover that power.
